Artist
Paul
Landry
is
known
for
his
images
of
colorful
gardens
and
scenes
of
maritime
life.
In
his
latest
fine
art
limited
edition,
A
Sailor's
Garden,
Landry
combines
both
of
these
worlds
to
create
both
a
beautiful
composition
and
a
collector's
dream
come
true.
Radiant
with
hues
and
warm
with
nostalgic
ambiance,
Landry's
images
tenderly
wed
flowers
with
our
own
universal
fond
memories.
His
own
love
of
gardening
is
his
inspiration.
Of
A
Sailor's
Garden,
Landry
says
"Even
though
the
sailor
may
be
at
sea
for
months
at
a
time
and
enjoy
it
immensely,
he
also
loves
the
time
spent
in
his
garden
caring
for
the
earth.
Both
sea
and
land
calling
his
heart
and
hand.
But,
I
wonder,
if
he
had
to
make
a
choice,
would
he
agree
that
there
is
no
place
like
home?
And
is
there
truly
any
other
place
like
your
own
garden?"

Paul
Landry
fondly
remembers
his
autumn
visits
to
Aunt
Martha’s
farm
and
tasting
the
secret
ingredient
of
her
apple
pie.
“She
didn’t
live
very
far
from
us
but
it
always
seemed
like
a
long
ride
because
we
couldn’t
wait
to
get
there,”
recalls
Paul.
“She
had
vegetable
bins
filled
to
overflowing,
baskets
of
glorious
flowers,
big
pumpkins
waiting
to
be
carved
and
plenty
of
green
and
red
apples
for
making
pies.
But
when
she
baked
her
apple
pie,
you
had
to
be
quick.
They
were
the
perfect
blend
of
sweet
and
tart
and
she’d
tempt
you
with
warm
slices.
Who
could
resist?”
-
Stopping
by
a
country
farm
is
a
rite
of
the
fall
season
for
many
people.
Paul
captures
this
charming
scene
as
a
cool
autumn
breeze
blows
in
from
the
fields.
Crimson
and
gold
maple
leaves,
fragrant
with
the
earthy
aroma
of
the
season,
cascade
gently
down
on
the
roof
of
her
roadside
stand.

When
we
were
children,
winter
meant
one
thing:
snowy
fun.
It
meant
days
off
from
school
spent
building
snowmen,
sledding
down
the
tallest,
scariest
hill
in
town
or
stockpiling
snowballs
for
the
battle
of
the
year.
As
adults,
we
often
lose
sight
of
the
magic
of
winter
amidst
thoughts
of
shoveling
the
driveway
or
frozen
water
pipes.
We
forget
the
simple
pleasures
of
skating
on
a
frozen
pond,
mitten-in-mitten
with
a
loved
one.
Paul
Landry
has
not
forgotten
and
Bay

his
newest

celebrates
the
very
best
of

As
Paul
tells
us,
“I
like
to
imagine
that
my
grandmother
Cecilia,
a

wife,
grew
up
in

like
this

I

In
1990,
Paul
first
invited
us
to
share
a
visit
to
The
Flower
Market.
That
exquisite
image,
radiant
with
color
and
warm
with
nostalgic
ambiance,
was
embraced
by
collectors
and
sold
out
at
once.
Over
the
ensuing
years,
Paul
has
often
brought
us
back
to
sample
the
market’s
delights,
ever
changing
with
the
seasons
and
the
hours.
Now
he
returns
to
the
scene
at
twilight,
bathing
each
richly
colored
bloom
in
an
incandescent
glow....
-
We
don’t
know
any
other
artist
who
weds
flowers
with
memories
as
tenderly
as
Paul
does.
Evening
at
the
Flower
Market
evokes
one’s
fondest
recollections
of
country
living—its
simple
and
most
rewarding
pleasures.
At
the
same
time,
one
reaps
a
bounty
for
the
senses.
Who
doesn’t
savor
the
dewy
fragrance
of
these
blooms
or
long
to
touch
their
satiny
petals?
It’s
almost
an
embarrassment
of
riches
to
add
that
the
piece
complements
virtually
any
décor...but
there,
we’ve
gone
and
said
it!

A
gardener
is
drawn
to
a
flower
market
like
a
kid
to
a
candy
store.
Just
the
sight
of
flourishing
blossoms
can
put
a
long
winter
in
the
past.
The
flower
wagon
gardener
in
this
scene
is
getting
ready
to
go
out
for
a
day
of
making
our
summer
dreams
come
true.
With
its
variety
of
beautiful
colors,
textures,
shapes
and
fragrances,
there
is
nothing
like
a
bounty
of
flowers
to
lift
one’s
spirits.
-
“The
excitement
of
selecting
and
planning
exactly
what
I
want,
and
where
I
want
to
plant,
makes
me
happy,”
says
artist
Paul
Landry,
“and
my
green
thumbs
start
itching
to
get
started
as
soon
as
possible.”
-
Landry’s
own
love
of
gardening
is
the
artist’s
inspiration
for
his
colorful
flower
paintings.
Radiant
with
hues
and
warm
with
nostalgic
ambiance,
Landry’s
images
tenderly
wed
flowers
with
our
universal
fond
memories
of
the
season.
Rainbow
Gardens
is
an
open
invitation
to
visit
often
and
sample
the
market’s
many
delights.
And
if
Aunt
Martha
is
baking
that
day,
you’ll
enjoy
an
additional
treat!

When
I
travel
through
my
hometown,
and
all
the
towns
of
New
England,
there
are
certain
places
that
prompt
a
special
memory.
I
remember
that,
as
a
paperboy
in
my
youth,
I
got
up
very
early
to
fold
the
papers,
put
them
in
my
sack,
and
hop
on
my
old
bike.
I
made
sure
all
my
customers
had
something
to
read
with
their
breakfasts.
-
The
streets
were
wonderfully
wide
in
some
places,
but
just
about
a
car's
width
in
others.
I
loved
the
hills...
that
went
down.
I
also
loved
the
the
roads
I
took
each
day,
and
I
even
loved
the
change
of
seasons
--
from
the
freezing
winters
when
I
braved
the
deep
snow,
to
the
spring
with
its
bird
songs
and
daffodils,
to
hot
summers
when
I'd
go
swimming
the
minute
I'd
get
back
home,
to
the
bright
leaves
lit
the
way
every
day.
-
I
always
loved
those
memories,
and
I
hope
you
see
why
I
share
them
so
freely.

As
the
Christmas
season
draws
near,
we
find
ourselves
reflecting
on
who
we
are
and
how
much
our
family,
friends
and
freedom
mean
to
us.
Our
hearts
wish
that
the
joy
of
the
season
could
last
all
through
the
year.
The
winter
scenes
of
Paul
Landry
have
long
been
a
welcome
holiday
staple
in
the
Greenwich
catalogue.
This
year,
we
are
pleased
to
share
with
you
one
of
his
most
romantic
and
enchanting
seasonal
images.
The
children
sledding,
bringing
home
the
tree
and
a
sleigh
carrying
presents
home
to
the
delight
of
any
child,
all
provide
a
nostalgic
reminder
of
the
many
sights
and
sounds
of
the
holiday.
