CEDRIC HUSTACE BIOGRAPHY

Evansville, Indiana artist Cedric Hustace hails from Hawaii. His impressionist paintings in acrylic on canvas and ink and watercolor sketches range from landscapes and seascapes, to portraits of people and animals, to action scenes on athletic fields and other sports venues. His commissioned works appeared on the commemorative posters celebrating the 10th anniversary of the 1996 Arts Fest River Run in Evansville and the 1997 Idaho Women's Fitness Celebration 5 kilometer race in Boise, Idaho. He was the commissioned artist for the 2000 Arts Fest River Run. Mr. Hustace is the recipient of the “2002 Artist of the Year” Award from the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana. He also has received the 2002 Presidential Citation for his numerous contributions of cover art for the Res Gestae law journal of the Indiana State Bar Association and has been referred to as “the State Bar's artist laureate.” Mr. Hustace was also voted 2003 Best of Evansville Local Artist, Evansville Living Magazine. His painting, Love at First Sight - Evansville Museum (20" x 24"), was done by special request of the Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science for its 2004 Centennial Celebration.

Mr. Hustace's works are on display at Iolani Palace, Honolulu, Hawaii; Riverwind Gallery, Newburgh, Indiana (featured artist, March - April, 1997; May - June, 1998; September, 2000; March, 2002); The Museum Shop, Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science (featured artist, May - August, 2000); Dunn Gallery, Oakland City University (one-man show, June, 2002); one-man show, Wabash Valley College (February-March, 2003 & October-November, 2003); Volcano Art Center, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park; Shop Pacifica, Bishop Museum, Honolulu, Hawaii; Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana, Evansville (one-man show, October, 1998); St. Mary's Catholic Church, Evansville; Trinity United Methodist Church, Evansville; Evansville Civic Theatre; Mayor's Office, City of Evansville; Vanderburgh Circuit Court, Evansville; Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Princeton, Indiana; Old National Bank in Evansville; and a number of private collections in the United States, as well as Australia, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, India, Italy, and Japan. His Royal Hawaiian Band in Concert (20" x 24") hangs in the corporate offices of Victoria Ward, Limited, Honolulu.

Mr. Hustace studied art at Texas Western College, El Paso; the University of Miami, Florida; and in Heidelberg, Germany. He is a member of the Artists of Southwestern Indiana, an associate member of the Brown County Art Guild, past-president of the Artists' Collaborative of Evansville, a member of the El Paso Art Association (Texas), the Henderson Society of Art (Kentucky) and the Volcano Art Center (Hawaii). Mr. Hustace is past President of the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana (2004).

Mr. Hustace has served as guest art instructor at La Pietra Hawaii School for Girls and Waimea Country School, Hawaii, and has demonstrated art for a number of organizations, including the Volcano Art Center, Hawaii. He conducted a successful art workshop at Hilo, Hawaii in March 2005.

In addition to art, Mr. Hustace is an accomplished musician and a Masters competitive race walker. He is a retired attorney.
