The last four years have provided us with fun filled days for our
annual Newburgh plein air paint out. In 2008, we are looking forward to
our fifth year. Following is information regarding this year’s plein
air paint out sponsored by Riverwind Gallery . Artists may
pick up an information packet with their official badge between June 2-7 or find more information at
www.riverwindgallery.com. A 30 percent commission will be
charged on all paintings sold at the reception with 10% going to Media
Ministries Dream Center, a local children’s
organization. We ask that 10% of any paintings sold other than at
the reception still honor the 10% to be donated to Media Ministries
for the children. Please note
that this year’s reception will be held on the day following the actual
paint out,
Sunday June 8 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Paper or canvases are not required to be marked prior
to the paint out. We will rely on the Artist’s integrity that they will
only paint between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday June 7.
Artists wishing to participate in the Sunday afternoon reception and
sale at Riverwind Gallery will need to deliver their artwork to
Riverwind Gallery by 4 p.m. Saturday June 7. Please have your
artwork ready to be displayed. If framed, it will need to have a wire
hanger on the back.. This includes photo frames if you want them to hang
on the wall. Otherwise, they will be displayed on a table top. For
paintings not in a frame that will set on a tabletop, you will
need a small table easel on which to display
them. Any media is acceptable.
We strongly encourage those artists not wishing
to participate in the afternoon reception to stop by and
pick up artist name tags and “plein air” flyers to display on their
easels or around their painting area to wordlessly explain the public about the
event as they approach painting artists.
Artists may set up and paint anywhere in or around the Newburgh area.
You may paint scenes, florals, people or whatever you choose as long as it is not
deemed objectionable.
Artists will be responsible for filling out the title/price card to
be turned in with the finished painting. You will need to fill in the
title, artist name, medium and retail price. This will be the actual
information card to be attached to
the art to be sold. If you have any questions, please call Norma at
