The works of Lutz Fischer show his passion for the nature and
the influence of the 19th and 20th century landscape painters, particularly the
Impressionists, is reflected in his paintings. His paintings employ soft,
serene palettes, showing quietness and harmony while reflecting his unique
vision of the natural world. The vibrance of the landscapes plays with
light and shade, and are evocative of the romantic imagery of Impressionist
tradition.
The painter spent his childhood in India, and the bright and
exciting culture led him to pick up a brush and paint at an early age. His
first steps toward formalizing his technique came in Germany, during school and
his technical education. These studies became important for the next
phases of his artisan education. He continued to return to paint, however,
and it remains the medium that he best expresses himself.
In 1989 he completed his education at the Schwerin Artistic
Academy, with his studies emphasizing painting and graphic design. He studied
under Carl Hinrichs and became a member of the Goderner Kreis, an artist's guild
assembled to further the spectrum of young landscape artists. He later
contributed to and took part in the Wiligrad Artist Cooperative.
